$1 Million Fred M. Fehsenfeld, Sr Catalyst for Change Fund
Every breakthrough in the journey of building starts with a solid foundation squared by the dreamers, the innovators—those who echo the legacy of our late Heritage Group founder Fred M. Fehsenfeld, Sr., a philanthropist, tireless asphalt industry supporter and an eternal catalyst for change.
Like laying down the first strip of asphalt on the road, to connection, growth and prosperity, we started the Fred M. Fehsenfeld, Sr. Catalyst for Change Initiative in August 2019. The initiative will fund research, education, transportation system design, asphalt pavement testing methodology, safety and environmental stewardship. This initiative is ultimately about the importance of innovation in the asphalt industry.
An inspiring moment unfolded in a recent gathering of industry stakeholders at the Asphalt Institute Annual Meeting Awards Dinner in Key Biscayne, FL. Chip Ray, President of Asphalt Materials, Inc., and Geoff Dillon, CEO of HC+M, announced a gift of $300,000 to the AI Foundation. This contribution completes the $1 million pledge to the Fehsenfeld, Sr. Catalyst for Change Initiative.
