Women of Asphalt asked its members to nominate exceptional women who have made extraordinary contributions to the industry. Of the nominees, 23 women were selected for a campaign honoring 23 in 2023.
HC+M is proud to have two outstanding Heritage women receive this prestigious honor. Kierstin Janik and Megan Yount. Congratulations to both ladies on this important achievement!
Megan Yount, a Pavement Materials Engineering Manager at Heritage Research Group, graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. In Indiana, Megan is also a licensed professional engineer. She is essential in creating technical reports, possibilities for training in cutting-edge technologies, and sampling of asphalt that has resulted in significant breakthroughs in the field of asphalt engineering. Megan is a role model for aspirant engineers, particularly women because she has established herself as a respected and competent leader.
Kierstin Janik, Chief Talent Officer at Heritage Construction and Materials, graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Master of Science in Human Resources and Labor Relations. Along with her husband Joe, Kierstin owns MashCraft Brewing Company, which has three locations in the Indianapolis region and serves on the boards of Invent Learning Hub and Ascend Indiana. She is also a member of the Women’s Fund of Central Indiana.
In her current position, Kierstin collaborates with other senior leadership team members to develop business strategies and personnel procedures that support the division’s construction, asphalt, and aggregates operations. Kierstin has achieved several things that have motivated everyone around her.
“Personally, Women of Asphalt has helped me to connect with other talented women who are not only impressive in their respective functions but are also dedicated to this same mission. They inspire me in so many ways!”. – Kierstin Janik.
