Honoring our Veterans With Wreaths Across America
Along with our Heritage family’s work in building roads, bridges and commercial projects across the Midwest, we have always found ways to be more than just a workplace but a community.
In 2016, what started as a special delivery by two Heritage Transport trucks quickly turned into a seven-year tradition of our Heritage Environmental Services(HES) family honoring the gravesites of fallen soldiers with evergreen wreaths. This December HES will deliver two truckloads of wreaths to Abraham National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois.

Since 1992, Wreaths Across America has honored veterans across America by placing wreaths on the headstones of our fallen heroes. This year, National Wreaths Across America Day is on December 16 at more than 4,000 locations across all 50 states, at sea and abroad.
Thousands of Wreaths Across America volunteers plan local ceremonies, gather money to sponsor wreaths and participate in the festivities that make National Wreaths Across America Day and other events possible. Volunteer truck drivers and trucking businesses enable the organization to transport wreaths nationwide. On National Wreaths Across America Day, a sponsor pays $17 for each Veterans’ wreath that is placed.
Wreaths Across America has become a symbol of love, honor, and remembrance. The day is a reminder that the sacrifices made by fallen heroes should never be forgotten. Each year, more wreaths are placed on tombstones, more stories are shared, and the profound meaning behind this tradition touches more communities.
